Lublin is the capital of the region.

It is a town of 400 000 inhabitants, the oldest and biggest one right of the Vistula River.In 1569 the Great Seym concluded the Lublin Union, as a result of which The Kingdom of Poland and the Great Duchy of Lithuania were united, and Prussian duke Albrecht Frederic II paid a feudal hommage to Polish King Sigismund II Augustus. Lublin, an almost 700 hundred year old town on the Bystrzyca River, enchants its visitors not only with its picturesque location, but also the original archiceture of two hills, the Old Town  and Castle Hill. Valuable architectural monuments of history, unique on a European scale, iclude Holy Trinity chapel, built in a Gthic style, with Russian-Byzantine frescoes of 1418.

- Lublin Castle
Rebuilt in 1824-1826 in an English Neo-Gothic style, orginally a prison, from 1954 a location of the Lublin Museum,
its collection includes European painting and local folk art.

- Fortified habitable tower, so-called donjon in Lublin
the 13th century, the only example of a Romanesque style in the Lublin Region.

- The Old Town Hill in Lublin
One of the most interesting old town complexes in Poland.

- The Cracow Gate in Lublin
Its name is derived from the tract to Cracow, built in the mid-14th century, last reconstruction in 1782,
a present location of the Lublin Historical Museum.

- Royal Tribunal in Lublin
A central point of the old town, in the 15th century a seat of municipal authorities,
from 1578 the highest court of Małopolska (Minor Poland), now the Wedding Palace.

- The Houses of Old Town
The houses standing along the main, impresive, multifunkcional square were built in the Middle ages.
These were the houses of the City elite. Their facades still bear the traces of the past splendour - the sculptures, attics, portals.

- The dominican Basilica
A Gothic-Renaissance church witch richly decorated interior, the most valuable church complex in Lublin.

- Lublin Cathedral
1586-1625, the Sanctuary of Our Lady with a holy icon of the Weeping Virgin Mary, one of the first Baroque edificies in Poland with a unique Acoustic Vestry.
