Great Egret (Egretta alba)

Among 68 scenic lakes of the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District there some of them are used for tourism, but a lot of them are still wild and became a kingdom of water-marsh birds.

Bogs, lakes and large complexes of ponds are the paradise for ornithologists. Among more than 200 birds species we can find e.q. exotic egret, crane, black grouse and white-tailed eagle.

Polesie National Park is a water-marsh area of international importance. Due to the Ramsar Convention it became protected as a valuable habitat for waterfowl, e.q. aquatic warbler, corncrake, ferruginous, black stork and egret.

Lakeland extensive forests of the Lake District is not only a great place to relax in natural environment, but also the habitat of one of the largest polish mammals - deer.

Moose (Alces alces)

„West Polesie " international Biosphere Reserve is a microcosm of European tundra and forest-tundra. Vast peat bogs and swamp forests are the kingdom of an extremely high population of moose, pond turtle and several species of insectivorous plants.
